This is by far the best electronics troubleshooting book I have ever run across. It is aimed at just the right level of experience (for me, anyway). It is NOT an intro to electronics and expects the reader to possess a basic knowledge of the fundamentals. Lots of examples and diagrams to help with understanding.

I was an Electronics Technician in the Navy and this is the best troubleshooting book for any student of electronics. A must have for the workbench!

He shows you in words and diagrams how to do the steps real techs do in the real world when you have to get a device or system back up and working FAST!. Basically a no BS approach to troubleshooting electronics the way its done in the real world. A basic understanding of electronics is necessary to get the full benefit of this text. The perfect compliment to a 2yr technician course at a Junior college or vocational school. If you are just out or close to leaving a tech course, buy this book. It could mean the difference in handling the repair yourself or having to call support and having them talk you through it.

This book simplistically defines the best approach to problem solving in a repeatable method that optimizes the development of effective and efficient solutions that heighten productivity and diminishes waste. The graphics support the reading whether you are auditory or visual. The examples are easily understood. It is such a quick read that anyone from middle school to a Ph D. level can find value in this reading. I have referred this book to at least 7 people on my team. I am teaching a workplace course from this book beginning in January…wish me luck.

The author obviously has a deep experience in the area of Root cause analysis and covers every aspects of this subject. I am impressed by the systematic / structured approach recommended by the author.The only thing that I can think of that I can make this book better is to provide examples of real problems and use the method to solve it using the various methods.That would have been very helpful.

Okes has done a remarkable job creating a book that is readable, concise and useful. There are several well-known books which will smother you with statistics and studies. Great overview of the tools and concepts for solving problems. This wull make a valuable resource in my library.

Tis a book that ALL should read, mine was a repurchase as I gave the other away.

Good review of various root cause analysis methods. Author presents their own approach. Good examples for training. I can see referring to it again.
